Equans is looking for a HVAC Technician to join our team in Leiston, Suffolk (Sizewell B Power Station) on a permanent basis for our EDF contract.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

As the HVAC Technician, you will work in a team and be responsible for: Routine plant maintenance, overhaul, and fault-finding work on a wide range of mechanical plant equipment including:
* Pumps,
* Air compressors,
* Fans,
* Drives,
* Motors
* Pneumatic controls,
* Pressurisation units' systems.
* Electrical circuits associated with equipment (Optional / desirable)

Industry Qualifications Required:
* City & Guilds Level III or NVQ equivalent is a mandatory requirement
* C&G/HNC or time served equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, factory services or similar subject.

Desirable:
* IOSH managing Safely.

Monday to Thursday 08.00 till 16.30 and Friday 08.00 till 14.00

Job description:
To carry out the preparation and coating of steel structures, pipework, concrete floors & walls and a variety of other industrial environments. Duties will include:
* Work closely with other painters and supervisors.
* Work with hand tools and powered mechanical tools such as needle guns, bristle blasters, sanders etc.
* Develop effective working relationships with appropriate parties.
* Read and understand processes and safety procedures.
* Manage time effectively to ensure tasks are handled accurately and in time therefore ensuring we deliver a high standard of work to the business and client.

What you will deliver

The Domestic Chargehand will be responsible for assisting the Domestic Supervisor to lead and motivate the domestic team to carry out their cleaning duties and to ensure work areas are cleaned to the expected standard.: to assist the domestic supervisor in the following tasks, and cover during time off:

* Providing support and supervision to the domestic team
* To be able to organise a team and allocate staff to tasks accordingly
* Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to
* Support statutory and unplanned outages with additional hours as required
* Ordering and maintaining stock levels of cleaning materials
* Ensure appropriate risk assessments are undertaken on all work
* Management of absence and holidays for the domestic team to include investigations
* Carrying out regular cleanliness inspections to ensure the highest standards are achieved
* Developing and implementing cleaning schedules and routines
* Attend meetings as required
* Establish a good working relationship with your team members, and when required provide guidance to others
* Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards.

What you will deliver

The Radwaste Chargehand will be responsible for leading and motivating the Radwaste team to carry out defined services within the RCA and Radwaste (cleaning of tanks, processing radioactive waste) and to ensure work areas are cleaned to the expected standard.

* Providing support and supervision to the radwaste team
* Act as a Radiation Protection Supervisor
* To be able to organise a team and allocate staff to tasks accordingly
* Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to
* Support statutory and unplanned outages with additional hours as required
* Ensure appropriate risk assessments are undertaken on all work
* Liaise with the client to work through contract specification and any associated KPI's to include weekly reporting
* Management of absence and holidays for the radwaste team
* Carrying out regular observations to ensure the highest standards are achieved
* Attend meetings as required
* Establish a good working relationship with your team members, and when required provide guidance to others
* Identify and report areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards
