The post holder would work alongside 2 other geriatricians on ward 12 (care of the elderly) to improve the care of older people with complex needs as well as improving the care of frail patients on EADU. They would be part of a team of doctors looking after a Criteria Led Older Peoples ward dealing with complex acute care with the elderly, which focuses on patients with long term conditions, including dementia and movement disorders. There is a weekly MDT with the Older Peoples Mental Health team including a Liaison Psychiatry Consultant, and a weekly meeting with the Palliative Care team. Prospective candidates should be within 6 months of obtaining a CCT, or be listed on or eligible for the UK Specialist Register at the date of interview.
