The Role

In this role will have a direct report to the Head of HS&W and be responsible for assurance, incident investigation management, H&S Management system, HS&W Performance reporting, innovation, HSW digitisation and the development of the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team.

You’ll influence the performance of health and safety professionals within the project supply chain. You’ll manage the implementation of the whole lifecycle HSW on the project through pre-construction, construction delivery and commissioning.
Support numerous multidisciplinary construction delivery teams, driving performance across several contractors and design teams.


Key Responsibilities


Own and manage the SZC health and safety management system, working with the SZC HS&W Leadership team, the SZC Delivery leadership team and the extended supply chain.

Consult as required with legal and regulatory bodies, managing accreditation, membership audits, and awarding bodies.

Champion and support the H&S Culture Programme, help to develop and maintain the course delivery approach and content.

Connect with all members of the SLT and HSW Team, and maintain/ develop exceptional relationships.

You’ll engage with all Trade Partners and Alliance Partners (Tier 1s etc) to create an inclusive culture in HSMS Management.

Ensure innovation, research, and adoption of cutting edge, market leading products, technologies, methods, and services are regularly promoted, captured, and shared to support the delivery of HS&W.

Support the project leadership team in setting HS&W maturity goals, tracking progress, and report performance.

Provide assurance to the Client organisation that the Principal Contractor and associated contractors are complying with their requirements under Construction (Design & Management) (CDM) Regulations 2015.


The Skills

Experience working in a major infrastructure project role in the UK, with relevant experience in working as part of a senior H&S leadership team.

Strong experience in H&S Management System implementation, Visualisation, Digitalisation and presentation skills.

Knowledge of national and international H&S standards.

Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks both internally and externally.

The Pennine Lancashire Long Covid Service is seeking an enthusiastic Trainee Health Psychologist to support people with complex health-related psychological difficulties due to their experience of Long Covid.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive MDT. The post holder will be working into a team that values the role of clinical psychology and sees psychological care as an integral part of the service.

The post holder will require prior clinical experience of working with Long Covid Services and be nearing the end of their training to become a Health Psychologist. The post holder will support the wider psychology team and will work directly under the clinical supervision of a qualified Psychologist.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Co-Ordinator who will work as part of the Site Health, Safety & Wellbeing team providing the highest standard of advice and support to the SZC Client and Principal Contractor management teams.

This role will oversee activities on site, and as a result is based on location at Sizewell C. There may be some opportunity to work flexibly from home, around the project activities, and we provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role


You’ll undertake a range of safety programme-based activities, which include day to day provision of technical advice and guidance on all project health and safety matters and risk based intelligent monitoring all of which contributes to Sizewell C’s goal of zero harm.

You’ll participate in creating, maintaining and improving health and safety in the workplace.

You’ll hep to influence the Multi-Disciplinary team on health and safety issues relating to pre-construction planning & project evolution.

You’ll develop timely project based health and safety risk profiles to direct risk based inspection and other assurance activities.

You’ll undertake inspections, carry out accident investigations, keep records and write reports.

The Skills
You’ll have excellent communication skills with the ability to develop wide network and working relationships within SZC and the construction industry.

You’ll be highly skilled in the analysis of technically demanding and detailed information and quickly identify the underlying issues and risks.

Strong capacity to be future focused in identifying risks and implications. Strong communication skills to be able to put across complex concepts and data in a way that is readily understood and actionable, using a variety of media.

You’ll have excellent knowledge of national and international HSE standards and excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations.
