Role Description:
Applied Materials’ Manufacturing Engineering Department is searching for an intern to join our Austin team in summer 2024! Our Engineering group supports the build and test of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Our group continually leads process improvement and new product introduction projects. The position will entail the following:
Work closely with build and test technicians to identify process improvement opportunities
Do time studies on the build and test lines
Lead small manufacturing process improvement projects
Develop and update operation method sequences (OMSs)
Support manufacturing engineering with part defect root cause analysis and processing
Requirements
Student must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
Mush have troubleshooting and hands-on skills
Must be a quick learner and able to learn new skills without formal training
Engineering experience in a development or manufacturing environment preferred
Compensation
$28 - 32 per hour
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
