The Pennine Lancashire Long Covid Service is seeking an enthusiastic Trainee Health Psychologist to support people with complex health-related psychological difficulties due to their experience of Long Covid.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive MDT. The post holder will be working into a team that values the role of clinical psychology and sees psychological care as an integral part of the service.
The post holder will require prior clinical experience of working with Long Covid Services and be nearing the end of their training to become a Health Psychologist. The post holder must demonstrate excellent communication skills, commitment, and enthusiasm to improving the psychological well-being of people with Long Covid. The post holder will support the wider psychology team and will work directly under the clinical supervision of a qualified Psychologist.
The role involves largely remote working and includes administering psychological assessment, delivering brief interventions and supporting the delivery and review of group-based interventions under supervision. The post holder is also responsible for data collection and analysis, supporting service development initiatives and MDT working.
The post is largely remote working with some face-face working at Pendle Community Hospital and/or Clitheroe Community Hospital.
The post is currently fixed-term until 31/03/25. The advert may be closed early if sufficient applications are received.
The Pennine Lancashire Long Covid Service offers a multidisciplinary rehab package of care to adults with Long Covid. The main duties of the role include working with all members of the Long Covid Team to help inform psychological aspects of the patient journey.
The role includes delivering psychological interventions to individuals and groups, carrying out psychological assessments, MDT consultations and contributing to service evaluation and service development initiatives.
The post holder will be a part of a supportive psychology team and will work with all members of the team to help support and develop psychological services. The post holder will be expected to have a vision and ‘can-do attitude’ that will reflect an ability to build bridges, bring people on board and facilitate positive change at all levels.
