The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Engineer to work with us on ensuring plant safety and equipment reliability of our plant, developing short to long-term improvement plans and defining the maintenance policy on assigned systems. As a System Engineer, you’ll also be working on how the demands on your system change and the development and implementation of modifications to the plant and safety case. The role is based on site at the power station.

Pay, benefits and culture

The salary range associated with this role is between £40,069
- £84,892, however the starting salary for this appointment will be within the range of £54,391
- £84,892 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing

Each day will vary in this role, so you’ll need to adapt to changing circumstances. Some of the roles and responsibilities will include:

- Defining the maintenance and management strategy of plant systems
- Carrying out inspections and assessments on station assets and regular reliability reviews
- Managing the equipment reliability and maintenance policy, ensuring that compliance is achieved in line with the highest safety standards
- Identifying potential risks on the station and defining the need for investment in plant systems.


Your enthusiasm, resilience and adaptability will be key to your role as the system manager for a selection of the station’s plant systems. We want your drive and ownership of the role to promote innovation and improve station performance.
Who you are
Your self-motivated, positive attitude will ensure you can work under your own initiative to drive the asset improvement strategy for your designated systems. You will be trained as to why nuclear is special and be required to demonstrate the highest standards of nuclear professionalism and safety. Your strength in communication skills will ensure complex information is conveyed in a simple and concise way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, where you’ll need to adapt your style and content for the audience.As a minimum, you will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent) and it may be advantageous if you have a relevant degree and already hold or are working towards Chartered Engineer Status. The company will provide mentoring and support for you to achieve chartership. Previous experience in an Engineering role is required, with a background in a regulated high hazard environment or similar industry would be desirable, but not essential.

Join us as a Maintenance/Engineering Instructor, and you’ll join one of the most exciting and challenging projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.

At EDF, we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes, alongside supporting Britain’s production of net zero power through our current nuclear generating fleet.

As a Training Instructor, you will form part of our Nuclear workforce, working within the Nuclear Skills Alliance (NSA). Once qualified, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of Maintenance and/or Engineering training, using both classroom and simulated environments.

In your role, you will ensure accuracy of material, adherence to the training standards/procedures, and excellence in quality of delivery. You will be required to travel and deliver training where required, to ensure personnel have the required knowledge to carry out their roles to a high level.

What you’ll be doing…


- Undertaking Fleet Certified Instructor (FCI) training within 2 years.
- Developing and delivering Maintenance and Engineering Training related training material.
- Delivering training in classroom and plant simulator environments, as well as providing coaching and mentoring of trainees to expedite learning.
- Acting as course coordinator for responsible training areas.
- Leading and delivering training to groups from 1 up to 20 people, depending on the subject and environment.
- Acting as the subject matter expert for your area and demonstrating a deep understanding of the relevant company standards, becoming the company expert and representative in your areas.
- Ensuring company values, safety and operational experience are embedded throughout the training, training material and lesson plans.
- Communicating with line managers for the successful development of competence within your staff.
- Maintaining relationships within our nuclear family, with differing technologies and Subject Matter Experts for development of material.
- Communicating with external contractors if required, to provide training support services.

Who you are…

Your background may include some of the following:

- HNC or Higher-level qualification, in a relevant technical subject.
- Experience in one, or more, of Mechanical, Electrical or I&C related engineering/maintenance disciplines
- Experience of working in the field of Power Generation is desirable, however relevant experience in other related industries will be considered.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with experience in customer and stakeholder relations.
- Ability to apply current knowledge and adapt to latest technology.
- Ability to function effectively in a team with strong mentoring and influencing skills.
- Ability to identify, analyse and solve technical problems.
- Mobility where required, to deliver relevant training away from the base location.
- Knowledge of training processes and experience of the delivery of high quality technical/practical training.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Co-Ordinator who will work as part of the Site Health, Safety & Wellbeing team providing the highest standard of advice and support to the SZC Client and Principal Contractor management teams.

This role will oversee activities on site, and as a result is based on location at Sizewell C. There may be some opportunity to work flexibly from home, around the project activities, and we provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role


You’ll undertake a range of safety programme-based activities, which include day to day provision of technical advice and guidance on all project health and safety matters and risk based intelligent monitoring all of which contributes to Sizewell C’s goal of zero harm.

You’ll participate in creating, maintaining and improving health and safety in the workplace.

You’ll hep to influence the Multi-Disciplinary team on health and safety issues relating to pre-construction planning & project evolution.

You’ll develop timely project based health and safety risk profiles to direct risk based inspection and other assurance activities.

You’ll undertake inspections, carry out accident investigations, keep records and write reports.

The Skills
You’ll have excellent communication skills with the ability to develop wide network and working relationships within SZC and the construction industry.

You’ll be highly skilled in the analysis of technically demanding and detailed information and quickly identify the underlying issues and risks.

Strong capacity to be future focused in identifying risks and implications. Strong communication skills to be able to put across complex concepts and data in a way that is readily understood and actionable, using a variety of media.

You’ll have excellent knowledge of national and international HSE standards and excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations.

The Role


You’ll manage and coordinate the provision of proportionate oversight and assessment of Sizewell C Project undertakings with nuclear safety as the overriding priority.

You’ll be a skilled construction or safety practitioner, with the ability to work in a highly regulated assurance role.

You’ll support the ISI Manager and ISI team, in ensuring that the Sizewell C project creates and maintains a strong safety culture, good performance, and effectively manages safety risks.

You’ll Influence project decisions and direction, through clear, consistent, and unambiguous advice on project safety, quality, or regulatory requirements.

The Skills

You’ll be a skilled safety practitioner with experience in an assurance or oversight role.

You’ll have good awareness of the UK regulatory regime, be able to communicate effectively at all levels in the organisation and be able to demonstrate high ethical behaviour, integrity, humility, and character. You’ll have experience in a large infrastructure project and / or experience in a nuclear/high-hazard regulated industry is a significant advantage.

Experience in construction, with the ability to identify and effectively challenge substandard. behaviour and practices. You will have proven track record in building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders and Regulators. Within the Commercial department, we’re looking for you to join our highly motivated and multi-skilled team. You’ll be responsible for trending, analysing and reporting on event data, metrics and processes across the power station. This will include eliciting requirements, reviewing existing ways of working and designing new and improved trending to inform decision making across the power station.

What you’ll be doing

Who you are

The minimum qualification for this role is HNC (or level 4 equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline and it may be advantageous if you hold a relevant degree.

You will have/will be:

- An exceptional understanding of, or experience of using, business analytical skills
- Able to work closely with stakeholders to determine acceptable solutions
- An understanding of organisational learning, performance improvement and business planning processes
- Able to give self-direction and work autonomously
- Competency in Microsoft applications and Business objects

The Role
You’ll be based on site at Sizewell C, responsible for supporting our project managers with the delivery of highways and associated structures and utilities, within budget and on schedule to support the successful build of the project.

We have a fantastic opportunity for several Senior Project Managers (and Project Managers) to spearhead the end-to-end delivery of Systems, Structures, and Components within our Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning framework for SZC.
This’ll be a pivotal role key to the success of SZC, and you’ll be joining the project at a vital time in its construction, with an opportunity to grow with the project.
The Role
Based on site and reporting directly to the Site Establishment Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing direction and leadership for all activities associated with the full lifecycle delivery of assigned contracts.
You'll be responsible for managing a group of Project Managers, ensuring the successful delivery of a diverse scope of projects with capital values ranging from £100m to £500m.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Defining the work scope within contracts and packages, managing interfaces with other program elements.
- Securing necessary resources and maintaining SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel) within the project team.
- Developing and executing effective execution strategies and plans aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
- Driving delivery of contracts, ensuring safety, timeliness, budget adherence, and meeting technical requirements.
- Monitoring progress, identifying and resolving issues, managing risks, and facilitating resolution.
- Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and reporting progress to senior management.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and applying principles of continuous improvement.
- Managing financial aspects, including reviewing contractor payment applications and applying Earned Value Management principles.What You'll Bring:
A track record of successfully delivering projects in complex, regulated environments, preferably within nuclear energy or similar sectors.
Experience in engineering design, contract management, procurement, cost control, and risk management.
Strong leadership and management skills, including stakeholder engagement and team management.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies such as APM Body of Knowledge and Prince 2.
Detailed understanding of EPR design and familiarity with NEC and FIDIC contracts.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Chartered status in engineering, construction, or related field, with a degree qualification.
Knowledge of CDM Regulations and nuclear quality assurance practices.

The Role
Working closely with the Supply Chain, Responsible Designer and Quality teams, you’ll be dedicated to delivering a group of I&C systems & contracts within the SZC NI programme.
Ensuring a coordinated approach to design and delivery will be key, so you’ll need to manage the interfaces between internal and external stakeholders in the preparation of contracts, design changes, and managing risks and opportunities.
You’ll also develop and implement strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan, define the scope of work to be delivered within contracts and packages of work, and drive the implementation of site
- specific design changes.
The Skills
You’ll be a Project Manager specialized in I&C, with Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering or Nuclear Engineering university background, capable of coordinating multi-disciplinary design/ procurement work, driving teams to deliver on time.
You’ll be able to demonstrate experience of managing projects through the project lifecycle from concept to handover, with:

- Experience of the pre-tender and tender stages of procuring contracts for the design and installation of industrial equipment.
- Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment.Having a record of delivering complex, large scale projects, whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment, is necessary.
Additionally, you’ll have good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills as well as excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.

We’re looking for a pragmatic and passionate Programme Manager to join the team, reporting directly to our Technical Director delivering contracts with a value in excess of £1bn.

The Role
You’ll own and manage the overall Responsible Designer (RD) Nuclear Services Agreement (NSA) contract, valued at over £1 billion, delivering replication from HPC, design, and ancillary services for the SZC Project.
You’ll also oversee and manage associated contracts within the RD organization, including the Intellectual Property Licence Agreement (IPLA), Design Performance Guarantee Agreement (DPGA), and contribute to the preparation and negotiation of the Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA).
Your responsibilities will extend to setting up and implementing the NSA management organization within the SZC structure, ensuring the project can fulfil and discharge its full responsibilities under the NSA Contract. In addition, you will lead the NSA management team, fostering collaborative and constructive ways of working across the project.
As the subject matter expert, you’ll act as the go-to person within the SZC organization for matters related to the above contracts. Building and managing effective relationships with all stakeholders, both in France and the UK, will be a key aspect of your role.
Working closely with SZC Programmes, you will ensure the overall delivery of design, design replication, and engineering services adhering to safety, quality, time, and cost standards. This includes the preparation, approval, and execution of the annual Task Orders.

The Skills
You’ll be an experienced Programme Manager, with great influencing and persuasive skills, with the ability to build mutually beneficial relationships across multidisciplinary teams and with stakeholders at all levels.
You’ll be a team-player, focused on delivering effective and efficient results whilst motivating and encouraging the wider team.
Bringing excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously whilst keeping focus on driving projects through to implementation, will be key.
Experience of delivering major infrastructure projects such as the HPC project is beneficial, however exposure to other highly regulated and safety conscious industries is equally as important.

- Managing a key scope of work in the commercial management of contracts and claims across a suite of NEC and/or FIDIC based contracts.
- Overseeing contract commercial relationships.
- Reporting and providing support to a Senior Commercial Manager or Supply Chain Lead.
- Providing commercial management of contracts during the execution phase (post award) to maximise operational and financial performance and minimise commercial risk.
- Providing commercial management for the delivery of contract final account agreements (close­out). Commercial Managers must provide commercial support to the Project Manager in the effective delivery of the contract and ensure formal completion and closure of all the Project Contracts, identification and recording of commercial lessons Learnt.
- Responsible for the delivery of the contract in accordance with governance requirements; always operating in accordance with Integrated Management System (IMS) rules and procedures to ensure that contracts are administered within delegation of authority and the overall NNB governance/assurance regime.

What you’ll be doing

In the role, your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

- Monitoring plant conditions, records, values and observations
- Responding to requests from the control room to investigate issues
- Supporting the work management process through the execution of task identified on the station plan and the isolation of identified plant
- Working in confined spaces and working at height, navigating the plant in a variety of environments
- Logging activities during your shift accurately for a comprehensive handover
- Performing emergency scheme duties
- Ensuring all activities are carried out with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures and Safety Rules
- Manipulating the plant using station Operating procedures and appropriate human performance tools
- Contributing to Organisational Learning by routinely raising condition reports and evaluating fleet events and OPEX
- Reinforcing nuclear professionalism behaviours that improve performance and achieve a safe working environment.

Who you are
As a minimum, you’ll be educated to GCSE/National Qualifications standards and holding these to include “C” and above grade passes in English and Mathematics may be an advantage. Typically, you should have experience in the operation and/or maintenance of plant and machinery, although a comprehensive training package is in place. A clear communication style and effective engagement skills are paramount to this role, due to the need for quick decision making and relaying vital instructions.

You will be required to maintain the necessary physical fitness to perform the roles identified above, in particular those associated with the emergency response team where the wearing of breathing apparatus while performing physical work is a necessity. To comply with Emergency Scheme arrangements you should live within 25 miles (30 minutes) of the Station. Applicants with Class C, plus B+E qualifications on their driving licence would be at an advantage.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Our Maintenance Technician roles at Dungeness B Power Station are a unique opportunity to work at a nuclear power station to defuel and decommission our reactors safely and efficiently. You’ll be entitled to a company pension, annual salary reviews and 28 days annual holiday (in addition to public holidays). As part of our Dungeness B local agreement for maintenance teams (which is non-contractual) you will work an additional three hours per week above the contractual 37hrs per week, thereby accruing a total of 156 hours per year. The roles and responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to:

- Carrying out Mechanical, Instrument or Electrical routine and reactive maintenance activities
- Reporting on safety, environmental and plant issues found with the plant
- Completing maintenance records in a timely manner
- Updating procedures as required
- Using feedback to improve the effectiveness of the maintenance programme
- Ensuring maintenance activities do not adversely affect the environment
- Interacting with your team leader on job progress frequently
- Actively participating in personal performance appraisals and delivery of personal development plans.


Who you are

As minimum, you’ll be educated to GCSE/National Qualifications standards (or equivalent) and holding these qualifications to include “4” and above grade passes in English and Mathematics may be an advantage. Holding a City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in a maintenance discipline or time served apprenticeship may be advantageous.

- Maintaining a risk-based evaluation of the compliance programme, reporting on results as required
- Ensuring effective corrective action is taken to address identified shortfalls
- Working closely with peers around the nuclear fleet and the Conventional Safety Compliance Lead in our Central Services team, to ensure the organisation is proactive in ensuring compliance with legal requirements
- Maintaining the station Key Risk Tool
- Reporting on the results of the evaluation of compliance programme
- Maintaining knowledge and awareness of upcoming changes to legislation.


Who you are

As a minimum, you’ll need an HNC (or Level 4 equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject, as well as previous experience in an industrial safety post. Knowledge and understanding of AMS and of the EDF AGS process is desirable, although these can be acquired once in post. Previous supervision and leadership experience is advantageous.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
