Fire Electrician

We are looking for a qualified Fire Electrician to join our London team. You’ll predominately be carrying out small works/remedial works and the occasional planned preventative maintenance works when the business requires it. The role is mainly lone working; however, you will join a wider team of experienced engineers. This role is mobile covering the London and South East Region, therefore you’ll be provided with a company van and all the power and essential tools needed for the job to ensure properties are compliant and safe. The ideal candidate will have experience in fire alarm and emergency lighting upgrades and be a Qualified Electrician C&G 2391 approved.
The role of Fire Electrician will include:
- Carrying out fire servicing, repair and installation works in compliance with relevant regulations to ensure the Group's properties are compliant and safe
- Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer
- Ensuring accurate daily work records are completed
- Carrying out maintenance of systems including Fire Alarms, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Fire Shutters and Curtains to ensure safe and compliant properties
- Conduct remedial works and maintenance of fire and life safety systems up to 240v, this includes remedial works to Emergency Lighting
- Resolve problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed in line with agreed processes and within contract
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to City & Guilds qualification, NVQ 3 as Electrician (Part P & 18th edition 2nd amendment 2382-UP) or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application
- Emergency lighting in line with BS 5266
- Inspection, testing & certification of electrical installations . 2391-52
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) or NICEIC / NAPIT
- Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
- Experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
- Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
- Working knowledge of fire safety issues
- Good communication skills
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
