VGC Group Limited are recruiting for a Chef to be part of an Outage team working at Sizewell B Power Station in Suffolk.
Here's an Overview of what your role will entail:
Ensuring that kitchen staff adhere to quality, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
Cooking Breakfast & Lunch and supporting any Hospitality required
Staying up to date with culinary trends and kitchen processes
Liaising with suppliers and ensuring that they supply quality goods at affordable prices.
Supporting the Chef Manager with ordering stock as required
Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen equipment and organising repairs when needed
Supporting the development new dishes/Menus and overhauling menus
Other Duties will include:
Assisting the Chef Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of all catering operations.
To Support and supervise the complete food production, staffing and delivery for all catering operations.
To ensure all operating standards are followed by all staff and reviewed when necessary.
To help develop, write, and plan innovative menus, presentation and products for retail and event operations.
To set the standards of operation by which the kitchen staff are to operate and to ensure they are maintained.
To ensure that ordering of all food is written, checked, and placed with nominated suppliers and on receipt that goods and prices are correct.
To ensure that costing and production controls are managed effectively, recording wastage as required.
To ensure that the kitchen cleaning is always maintained to a high standard.
To ensure that all legislative and Government guidelines are adhered to, including (but not exclusively) The Food and Safety Act, HACCP procedures, Health, and Safety at Work Act and COSHH regulations, and Natasha’s Law.
To supervise the Catering team and to ensure the smooth running of daily operations and day to day events.
To ensure daily that all staff are fully uniformed with the correct PPE, including footwear and hat.
Candidate Specification:
Ability to work under own initiative.
Good team working and a flexibility to working hours.
BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in craft-based training
Level 2 and/or 3 Food Safety and Health & Safety
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 7.00am to 2.30pm (30 minutes Unpaid break)
Overtime is available at 1.5 and 2.0 rates
This is a great opportunity for an already established Chef to showcase your culinary skills on an established Nuclear Power Station in Suffolk.
Although this is temporary for the Outage, there may be an opportunity for a longer duration.
